dispositivo) y dos claves de cifrado. Guardamos esas tres cosas para poder enviarte el aviso;
No vendemos tus datos.
Cómo eliminar tu cuenta y tus datos — Hanguru

This app is free and built by a single person. This policy explains, in plain terms, what
data we store and why.
What we collect
Guest use (no account): your study progress is stored only on your own
device (browser localStorage). We never see it or store it on our servers.
Visit statistics: we generate a random ID stored in your browser (not a
cookie) to count new vs. returning visits. Alongside that ID we store: the dates
you opened the app or one of our lesson pages (the day only, not the time), your country
(as a 2-letter code, e.g. "US" —
never your full IP address or exact location), and which kinds of app you have come
in from: the browser, the app added to your home screen, the Android app, or the
iPhone app. We keep the first one you arrived with and add each new kind you use later, so it
is a list of kinds of app — not of devices, and not of installs. We also store two
languages: the one your browser or phone asks for, and the one you have chosen inside
the app. We keep them apart because that is how we know whether we guessed your language right
the first time. This is what lets us show
aggregate stats by country and see how many people come back.
Which parts of the app you use: when you tap certain buttons (starting a
quiz, opening a reading, practising pronunciation and the like) we store the name of that
feature and the time, alongside the random ID above. Opening one of our lesson pages counts
the same way, and there we store the kind of page — word list, grammar,
reading, guide — not which page it was. We never store what you type or which
specific words you study.
How long you spend in the app: we add up the seconds the app is open and
visible, split three ways (home screen, studying, finish screen). The clock stops when you
switch tabs, lock your phone, or leave the app alone for more than 10 minutes. It is a running
total per ID, not a log of what you did and when.
Which link brought you here: if you arrived through one of our links
with a tag on the end (for example ?from=ig, the one we put in our Instagram
bio), we store just that tag — one of a short, fixed list of channel names — alongside the
random ID above. We keep the first one you arrived with and never change it afterwards. We do
not store which page you came from, and we never store what you searched for. If the link has
no tag, we store a one-word category for where you arrived from instead — a search engine, a
social network, or another page on this site — worked out from the address your browser passes
along, which we do not keep. Only the category, only the first one, and only on the web: the
phone apps have no such address at all. Between the two we can tell whether what we post, and
what search engines show, brings anyone in.
None of the above includes your name, your email, your IP address or anything that
identifies you personally, and we don't combine it with data from other companies. All of
these records automatically expire if you haven't returned to the app in 400 days.
Feedback: if you send us feedback, we store the message, its type
(bug/idea/review), your language, and the country you select (2-letter code) — never your
name or email.
Google Sign-In (optional): we only request your email address and a
random Google account identifier — never your name, profile photo, or password. It's used
to back up your progress and sync it across devices.
Sign in with Apple (optional): we only request your email address (or
Apple's private relay address, if you choose to hide it) and a random Apple ID identifier —
never your name or password. If you connect both Google and Apple to one account, we store which
identifier of each signs into it. Deleting your account also revokes the access Apple gave us.
Account progress (if signed in): words studied, XP, streak, quiz
scores, and, if you set them, a display nickname and country flag (used for the optional
leaderboard).
Email reminders (optional, off by default): if you turn this on from
the Account screen, we may email you reminders to keep studying. It's never turned on
automatically — only if you switch it on — and you can turn it off again at any time from
the same place.
Notifications (optional, off by default): if you turn the notification
switch on, your browser or phone hands us a delivery address (a link belonging to Google's,
Apple's or Mozilla's notification service, depending on your device) and two encryption keys.
We store those three things so we can send the message at all; without them nothing can be
sent. If you turn it on while signed out, we also store, next to that
address: your language, the zodiac animal the app gives you, the 2-letter country code you
picked, the hour at which it is 9pm where you are (worked out from your
device's time zone, so we don't write to you in the middle of the night), the random visit
identifier from above, and the date of the last day you studied (the day
only). It's what lets the reminder arrive in your language at a sensible hour, and none of it
identifies you personally. Turning the switch off deletes that row right away; it's also
deleted if your browser stops accepting the messages, and automatically if you don't open the
app for 60 days.
Occasional announcement emails (if signed in): separately from study
reminders (which are opt-in and controlled by the toggle above), we may sometimes send a
one-time email about a significant new app feature. These aren't controlled by a toggle, but
every one includes an unsubscribe link — using it stops future emails of this kind.
Pronunciation practice (🎙️, optional): the microphone is only used when
you tap that button, and your recording is played back on your own device so you can compare.
To check your pronunciation we use your browser's or phone's own speech recognition when it
works: depending on the device, the audio is processed on the device itself or sent by the
system to its speech service — Google (Chrome/Android) or Apple (iPhone app). Where none works
(for example on iPhone and iPad in the browser or the home-screen app), that few-second
recording is sent to our server, which transcribes it with Cloudflare's AI service and returns
only the text. We don't store the recording or the recognized text: the text is only used on
your screen to compare it with the word.
Cookies & advertising
The app itself does not use cookies. If we display ads in the future (for example, through
Google AdSense), Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies
to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on your browsing activity. You can
manage ad personalization at
adssettings.google.com
and learn more in
Google's ads policy.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. The only third parties involved are Google (sign-in and, if
active, advertising), Apple (only if you sign in with Apple), your browser's or phone's speech recognition service (Google or Apple,
only if you use pronunciation practice) and Cloudflare (the provider hosting the app and its database, which also transcribes the
pronunciation-practice recording when your device can't).
How to delete your account and data — Hanguru
You can request deletion of your Hanguru account and all data associated
with it at any time, directly from the app:
Open the Hanguru app at hanguru.app and sign in with the account you want to delete.
Tap Profile in the bottom navigation bar.
Scroll to the bottom of the Account screen and tap Delete account.
Confirm in the confirmation prompt that appears.
What gets deleted, and when: once confirmed, your email address and all of
your cloud-saved progress (XP, streak, words/grammar studied, quiz scores, leaderboard
nickname and country) are permanently and immediately deleted from our servers — we keep no
backup copy afterward. You're also signed out on every device instantly. Feedback you've sent
and visit statistics never include your email or name (see above), so there's no additional
account-linked data left over to delete. If you use the app as a guest (no account), your
progress lives only on your own device — simply clear this site's data in your browser to
remove it.
Children's privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal
information from children.
